Before replacing the flasher you should check the fuses inside the car and in the engine compartment including fuseable links, then check for voltage in the flasher connector with the switch on, it may be that your switch is the problem. Newer cars use lighting control modules which would be the next place to check.

If you are referring to the "alarm" that clicks when the signal is activated - - that "clicking" sound is generated by the turn signal flasher unit itself. Check for need of replacement because the chances are good that if it is not working, all or some of your exterior directional signals are probably not working either.
The hazard and turn indicator flashers are located under the dashboard, directly below the radio and just to the left of the cigarette lighter/ashtray. There are two side-by-side, with the turn indicator flasher on the right. You need to begin by removing panels starting from below the steering column, then working your way to the right. There was another answer that stated it was located behind the glove box, but those are relays.

If this clicking only happens when your turn indicator or hazard lights is on it's the flasher unit working. If not it's the stuff in the glove box rolling around probably.
