No, it should not leak freon because it is supposed to be a sealed unit.
When a brake line is leaking on the Chevy Venture the brake line should be replaced as soon as possible. A leak, however small, can cause hydraulic fluid to escape the brake line which will cause a loss in brake pressure. The brakes should be bled of air after the new line is put in to remove gaps in brake pedal pressure.
remove and replace defective components
Call Around; Find A Radiator Shop or A Mechanic That Can Pressure Test Your Radiator. This Should Help
You need to have a cooling system pressure test to determine as to where it is leaking now. Repair the leak and it should be okay.
check your fuel pressure. With key on engine off it should be 35 - 45 lbs. It should be 5 or 10 lbs higher with engine running. It should hold pressure for 15 min. - within 5 lbs after key is turned off. If pressure is low, or if pressure bleeds down quickly something is leaking. If fuel lines are ok. Either check valve on fuel pump isn't holding, or one of the injectors is leaking, or the fuel pressure regulator is returning the fuel to the tank. cycle the key on and off a few times to build up pressure and seal off both supply and return fuel lines. if pressure still bleeds down one or more fuel injectors is leaking. if pressure holds, release the return fuel line if pressure bleeds down its the fuel pressure regulator that's leaking. if pressure holds release the supply line if pressure bleeds down now its the check valve on the fuel pump.
There is an air fitting on the tank, where you can check the pressure on the one side of the diaphragm. Hold you hand over it and see if the air is leaking out here. If air is leaking out here, you need to get a tire valve tool and tighten the pin. If the diaphragm was bad, the tank would completely fill with water and this should not cause that sound. There is a pressure switch, and the plumbing lines, but if there where to whistle, you would see water leaking out.
On the 4.3 vortec: to check for a leaking system, Remove plastic vortec cover, Then remove the round black thingy on the top and look in with a flashlight. It SHOULD be dry. If it is wet, you got a leak. Could be fuel pressure regulator (passenger side) or fuel line (driver side).
A leaking water heater can be very dangerous and should not be used if it is leaking. Also, you should clean the leakage and keep it away from any other electronics.
should I be concerned that I have a vessel in my heart that's leaking at 47 years old
It looses air therefore, you have a flat tire so you should go to a mechanic! The tire pressure slowly drops causing the tire to wear unevenly and you to have less stability and control of your vehicle.
The only other thing I can think of is a problem with the master cylinder. Something inside that isn't holding the pressure as it should.
