However, in-home refrigerators were not available until around 1834, by Jacob Perkins (an American Inventor). Then, in 1857, an Australian by the name of James Harrison developed the first combination Refrigerator and Ice Maker, which is most like what is used today.
I can partially answer your question. I have one of these and it still runs. My parents bought it used when he came home from WWII in 1945. I can not find a date on it anywhere. The label calls it a refrigerating machine--not a refrigerator.
