It don't have to have it. But it will make the engine LAST LONGER.
Depending on where the leak is, if there is a weakness in the 350 it was with the oil cooler lines. It turns out that most of the oil leaks from the cooler lines has nothing to do with seals. It's a problem with the cooler line.

NO you do not. That is what the o-ring is for. If you use sealer it will wind up in the oil and that is Not good.

If it was a 1983 3/4 or 1 ton then someone may have ORDER an oil cooler on it from the factory. ( possible ) They didn't start using Factory oil coolers on all trucks until late month of 1987 I believe.

Yes. There are aftermarket suppliers that offer oil coolers that use the oil pan's drain plug as an access point. INTO? Many of the 350's have an external oil cooler. It was standard equipment on pickups with the towing package, and in fact it was a bit of a problem for a few years since the engine oil coolant line often leaked when everything else was still tight.

The oil drain plug on a 1994 Chevy 350 is on the underside of the motor. Look for a bolt in the very center of the bottom of the engine.
