The fuel pump relay has a secondary control circuit operated by the computer. Upon cranking the oil presuure has to reach 20+ psi befor the computer singals the distributor to fire and the fuel pump to kick in.
A relay is a switch which opens / or closes a circuit
The secondary fault circuit is generally a poor connection in the fuel pump circuit or possibly bad fuel pump. Check connection on top of gas tank and be sure to check ground wires.
Fault code P1230 indicates an issue with the supply relay's secondary circuit in the Astra SXI 1.6, often related to a malfunctioning fuel pump relay or a wiring problem in the circuit. This may require checking the relay itself, the wiring, and the connectors for any faults. If the relay is confirmed to be faulty, replacing it should resolve the issue. Additionally, inspecting the fuel pump and related components for proper operation is advisable.
If there is no fuel pressure and the fuel pump circuit, fuse and relay checks okay.
fuel pump relay is in fuse box under hood circuit opening relay is behind kick panel on passenger side
Under the dash, above computer. It's on a bracket that grounds to the wall. Toyota calls it a "circuit opening relay", not a fuel pump relay.
One is under the hood Labeled EFI. You can check it by swapping the horn relay to the side of it. Same relay. Hello. The circuit opening relay controls fuel pump circuit. When EFI main relay is energized, EFI main relay provides battery voltage to one side of circuit opening relay. Inspect this relay for fuel pump diagnosis. It is located at top corner of relay box, behind driver's side kick panel.
To shut down the fuel pump circuit in a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim, you typically need to locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box or relay panel. Once found, you can remove the relay or disconnect the battery to interrupt power to the fuel pump. Additionally, you can also disconnect the fuel pump fuse to prevent the pump from operating. Always ensure to follow safety precautions when working with the vehicle's electrical system.
Fuel Pump Fuse, Located In With The Fuses. Or Relay, Also Open Circuit, Broken Wire.
In order to test the fuel pump relay, you must check that the two control circuit terminals on the relay are not connected, using an ohmmeter. You must also test the power circuit terminals on the relay, in the same way.
It is a relay and an example of one circuit that it controls is the secondary air injection pump circuit.
