I don't know about the duramax engines but I know that all of the air compressors I've seen on the newer engines are gear driven. You should call Chevy and ask them what you need to change to get an accessorie driven air compressor on you Chevy. If they don't give you a straight answer then your parts guy doesn'r konw dick, ask around, call gm man.
