If the check engine light is on you should take it to a shop or an auto parts store that will scan if for you. they can often tell you what is wrong and even what part you'll need.
The two most likely parts that come to mind are the AIT Sensor ( Air Intake Temperature Sensor) or the Idle Air Control Valve. When these sensors aren't working it causes the engine to either race and rev high or for longer than normal or not idle high enough and want to cut off until the engine is warm.
where is the engine controle module located in a 1995 buick lesabre

Don't put a buick engine in a camaro. Instead, get a 350 LT1 (GM - corvette engine) for about 200 bucks used or 800 new. Sell the lesabre for this engine if you need to.
Get a code read out from your engine computer and it will tell you what is wrong.
On the RF of the engine underneath.
Check for a vacuum leak.
