Hate to sound like I'm giving you the run around but you really need to check your owners manual because the answer may depend on where you live. It probably recommends 5W-30 but if you live in a very hot climate or very dusty climate it may be different.

At any rate this is not something to take lightly. Oil is the life blood of your cars drivetrain and you really need to make sure you are following the manufacturer's instructions. Failure to take proper care of your oil and filter system is a leading cause in premature engine failure and yet proper care can extend the life of your engine considerably.

Don't forget that just as changing engine oil on time is important so is following maufacturer's recommendation for your transmission as well.
