yes, the axles are a direct swap
To correctly install the axle locker sensor behind the actuator plate on a 2005 Rubicon, first, ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and safely elevated. Remove the actuator plate by unscrewing the bolts and gently pulling it off. Position the axle locker sensor in its designated slot, ensuring it aligns properly with the locking mechanism, then reattach the actuator plate, tightening the bolts securely. Finally, reconnect any electrical connectors and verify that the sensor is functioning correctly.
No, they have the e-locker or no locker at all. Unless you choose to install a locker. ARB Loc-rite and Detroit all make lockers for a non e-locker equiped tacoma.
Lockers on a Jeep Rubicon work by electronically or mechanically engaging the differential gears, which allows both wheels on the same axle to turn at the same speed. This is particularly useful in off-road situations where one wheel may lose traction; by locking the differential, the power is evenly distributed to both wheels, improving traction and stability. The Rubicon typically features both front and rear locking differentials, which can be activated via switches on the dashboard, allowing drivers to select when to engage them based on the terrain.

80w90 The 2004 Rubicon rear differential uses 75W140 synthetic oil. On each side of the differential cover plate is a tag listing specific numbers for the differential. One of the tags lists the lubricant installed by the manufacturer. I also have a 2004 Rubicon and the rear differential on mine uses 75W140 synthetic oil plus 4 oz of limited slip lube. The front differential lists only 80W90 oil with no limited slip lube.
