It ain't rocket science... If the garage can't find it, take it to a different garage. Obviously you have a mechanic that doesn't know what he's doing. The list of possible problems isn't that large, and anyone who is half a mechanic should be able to isolate the problem and figure it out quickly. its not the garage. ive used them for 10 years and never had a problem. maybe it is rocket science....
