It isn't a "push & turn" thing like most suggest. You only need turn it with the tool and I wouldn't suggest using anything else;especially when the tool can be had for under $15. If the piston doesn't seem to be going down when turning, hit the face of it with a hammer a couple of times...however, not like you're trying to drive it in. Seems that the threads on the piston don't get into the "groove" so to speak without a little pressure...hence everyone saying you need to "press & turn." I did that method for almost an hour! A back ache (& headache) later, I grabbed the hammer & voila! It was almost maddening how easy it was after that.
