I HAVE A 99 AND I WAS TOLD BY A RELIABLE MECHANIC THAT THESE CARS DONT TURN ON UNTIL THEY REACH ABOUT 238 DEGREES. I HAVE ONLY HEARD MY FAN ON A HAND FULL OF TIMES IN THE SEVEN YEARS OF HAVING IT. ONE MORE TID BIT THEY HAD FAULTY INTAKE GASKETS AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED I HAVE HEARD OF PEOPLE BLOWING THEIR MOTORS FROM THIS. GOOD LUCK!!
Low coolant? Cooling system airbound? Low coolant? Cooling system airbound?
Low coolant? Cooling fan not working?
It can prevent coolant flow, which can cause a catastrophic overheat.
If coolant is up to proper level and cooling fans are working - should not overheat
Coolant doesn't go through the cooling system, and the vehicle will overheat.
Cooling fan is desgined to come on when coolant reaches 235 degrees Bad temperature sensor?
water pump or cooling fans or thermostat low coolant
lack of coolant . no cooling fan operation, low engine oil, improper coolant mixture, thermostat stuck, debri on radiator , restriction in cooling system.
cools the engine. without a fan, the car will overheat and the coolant will boil. the fan controls this from happening by cooling the coolant as it passes through the radiator.
A car can overheat if there’s a coolant leak, as this reduces the fluid necessary to regulate engine temperature. Additionally, a malfunctioning thermostat may prevent coolant from flowing, causing the engine to overheat. Other factors include a faulty water pump, clogged radiator, or an obstructed air intake, all of which hinder the cooling system's efficiency. Regular maintenance can help prevent these issues from arising.
this is normal, because the coolant temp sensor is supposed to be in direct contact with the cooling fluid in order to read its temperature
Blocked radiator, low on coolant, stuck thermostat, air in cooling system
