Are you asking if the Catera HAS one, or are you asking WHERE it is? If you want to know whether or not it has one, simply look under the hood for the throttle cable. If there is no throttle cable coming from the firewall below the brake fluid reservoir to the front of the intake manifold, than it is an electrical throttle system; NOT a mechanical throttle (mechanical throttles have the throttle cable). If you already knew that but you're just wondering where the throttle actuator motor is, it is located on the side of the throttle body. It's going to be on the same side of the throttle with the MAF sensor located on the air intake. Hopefully this will help out, I actually just spent a week rebuilding the electrical throttle system on my 2005 Mustang GT. Despite the difference in vehicles compared to yours, all electric throttle systems are very similar. If you plan on working on your throttle system, THERE ARE A LOT, and I MEAN A LOT, of things you need to be sure you take into consideration BEFORE you disassemble any part of the throttle system. If you have any more questions, feel free to respond anytime. Oh Yeah - Failing to take into consideration the sensitivity and procedures needed to be taken while repairing/working on an electrical throttle system will result in AT LEAST 1 check engine light code, as well as not being able to drive your car whatsoever. Improper steps while servicing the system will more than likely result in virtually NO throttle response, well at least not enough to make your car move. Please be careful while doing anything with such a system until you know EXACTLY what you're doing. Not to act like a jerk of anything, but I just don't want you to suffer what I had to these last few days........GOOD LUCK!

What is a throttle actuator on a Lincoln ls 2006?

The throttle actuator on a 2006 Lincoln LS is a critical component of the vehicle's electronic throttle control system. It regulates the airflow into the engine by adjusting the throttle plate position based on input from the accelerator pedal and engine management system. This electronic control enhances engine response and fuel efficiency while reducing emissions. If the throttle actuator malfunctions, it can lead to performance issues or warning lights on the dashboard.

What is the throttle actuator control system?

The throttle actuator control system is a component in modern vehicles that manages the engine's air intake by regulating the throttle position electronically instead of mechanically. It uses sensors to monitor the driver's input, such as accelerator pedal position, and sends signals to the throttle actuator to adjust the throttle plate accordingly. This system enhances engine performance, efficiency, and responsiveness while also integrating with other vehicle systems for improved stability and safety. Additionally, it often incorporates features for emissions control and adaptive response to driving conditions.

What does a code p2179 in a Cadillac CTS?

A code P2179 in a Cadillac CTS indicates a problem with the throttle actuator control system, specifically related to the throttle position sensor. This code usually suggests that there's an issue with the throttle body or its connection, which can affect engine performance. Common symptoms may include poor acceleration, stalling, or a check engine light. It's advisable to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a professional to prevent further issues.

Is throttle body same as throttle actiolator on jaguar s type?

No, the throttle body and throttle actuator are not the same, although they work together in the vehicle's engine management system. The throttle body is the component that controls the airflow into the engine, while the throttle actuator is the mechanism that adjusts the throttle plate position based on signals from the engine control unit (ECU). In the Jaguar S-Type, these components collaborate to regulate engine performance and responsiveness.

Where is the electronic throttle control actuator on your 2010 Dodge Caliber?

The electronic throttle control actuator on a 2010 Dodge Caliber is integrated within the throttle body assembly, which is located on the intake manifold. To access it, you'll need to remove the air intake duct and any associated components to reach the throttle body. The actuator is responsible for controlling the throttle plate position based on signals from the engine control module. Ensure to disconnect the battery before servicing to avoid electrical issues.

Is a throttle actuator control error on a 2008 Aveo an expensive repair?

A throttle actuator control error on a 2008 Aveo can vary in repair costs depending on the underlying issue. If it involves just cleaning or recalibrating the throttle body, it may be relatively inexpensive, typically ranging from $100 to $300. However, if the throttle body or actuator needs replacement, costs can increase to $400 or more, including parts and labor. It's advisable to get a diagnostic to determine the exact cause and associated costs.
