The spoiler on a 1997 Honda Civic is attached to the trunk. Open the trunk to gain access to the mounting hardware. Loosen the hardware and remove the spoiler.
If you have a spoiler, its in the middle of the spoiler on the trunk lid. Otherwise it should be in the middle of the back window. If you dont have a spoiler, but have a filler panel between the rear speakers at the rear window glass, I suspect someone has removed the spoiler or replaced the original trunk lid with one without a spoiler.
Spoilers are usually bolted in from the inside of the trunk.
In order to add a car spoiler to a car, one must first take accurate measurements of both the spoiler and the location of installment under the trunk. Once space has been verified and the spoiler bought, the wing brackets on the spoiler should be put together and the bolts tightened. Holes should be drilled through the top sheet metal of the trunk and the underside large enough for the spoiler bolts to pass through. The spoiler can then be attached to the trunk, being sure to place the washers before tightening the bolts.
To remove the spoiler from a 1990 Toyota Celica GT-S, first, locate and remove the screws or bolts securing it to the trunk lid, typically found underneath the spoiler. You may need to lift the spoiler slightly to access these fasteners. Once the screws are removed, gently lift the spoiler off the trunk, taking care not to damage the paint. Finally, clean any adhesive residue left on the trunk with an appropriate solvent.
