Because there is a fault/error in your airbag or Supplimental Restraint System - go to the dealership as soon as possible so they can find out what it is and fix it.
Most likely dashboard lamp(s) out. Can be the relay a wiring fault but it's a lot less likely than the lamp(s) .

The ABS and Airbag lights are self-clearing as far as the lamp goes. The system will store the fault as a code and turn the lamp off when condition is corrected and/or a certain number of trips have occurred since first occurrence with no issues. Open the passenger door and look at the end of the dash that it covers, if there is a key switch for the ignition key then yes you can! when you turn said keyswitch you should get a warning lamp illuminate on the dash when the car is running to remind you it is set to "off"
