1. remove airbox air pipe from throttle body and airbox and set it aside.
2. remove throttle body ( 4 bolts with hex heads ). This gives you access to the distributor.
3. feed a 13mm socket on an extension through a gap in the inlet manifold behind the distributor and undo the retainer bolt.
4. Reach in the gap you created earlier around the distributor and pull out the retainer plate and the bolt you just undid.
5. The distributor is now free to spin. You have to remove the cap to make enough room to pull the distributor body out of the block. Use a screwdriver to undo the clips that hold the cap on the distributor. This can be tricky for the clip currently at the back, but if you spin the distributor around anti-clockwise enough you can get at it.
6. push the cap off the distributor to the rear.
7. Lift the distributor out of the block, twisting it back and forth as you go. Once it is out of the block you can maneuver it out of the gap towards the front of the motor.
8. undo the plug leads from the cap and withdraw it out forward too.
There you're done. Reverse this procedure to get it back in again.
