"No heat coming out, temperature gauge buried at cold."

Uhhhh...no.

#1. Run the car till it gets to operating temperature (or warms up at all).

#2. Check radiator hoses.

a. top hose hot

b. bottom hose WARM but not HOT or COLD...just warm. Cooler than top but not cold.

If bottom hose is COLD, get a new thermostat or flush radiator, OR BOTH!

If bottom hose is as hot as top...GET A NEW THERMOSTAT!

My thermo was bad and the car NEVER overheated and temp gauge ALWAYS showed normal.

What are the signs of a bad thermostate in a car?

Signs of a bad thermostat in a car include the engine overheating or running too cold, fluctuating temperature gauge readings, and poor heater performance. You may also notice coolant leaks or a noticeable decrease in fuel efficiency. If the thermostat is stuck open, it can prevent the engine from reaching optimal operating temperature, while a stuck closed thermostat can cause overheating. Regularly monitoring these symptoms can help identify thermostat issues early.
