The Ford Bronco transmission can use any SAE certified transmission fluid. Ford transmissions manufactured before 1979 will need an F type transmission fluid.

The transmission fluid capacity for a 1979 Corvette equipped with the Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission is approximately 11 quarts when the torque converter is included. If you're just changing the fluid in the transmission itself without replacing the torque converter, the capacity is about 6 quarts. Always refer to the owner's manual or service guide for the most accurate specifications.
