Headlight bulbs, high and low beam, parking light bulbs, signal light bulbs, brake light bulbs, dash light bulbs, interior light bulbs, plate light bulbs, etc.
Check the fuse, then the bulbs, then the brake light switch.
You didn't mention what year the S10 is but, you can probably remove the 2 small screws that hold the lens to the housing and you will have access to the bulbs.

Likely the bulb is burned out. Do LEFT lights work? If so, replace both bulbs since it is due to go out too.
Is the S10 a 4x4?If not, measure everything and if it is correct Go for it
well it seems to be a common problem it might just be the switch on the transmission

The headlights are a separate circuit from the others. Check the bulbs, headlight switch, Hi/Low beam switch and depending what year you have check the fuses.
There are several bulbs for dash illumination. They are attached to the backside of the dash cluster. The best way to access the bulbs would be to remove the dash cluster.
You need to remove the dash in order to get back there to replace any blown bulbs.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs and check the brake light switch, in that order.
