The FLASHING light indicates a do not drive situation. This is usually indicative of a misfire. The code will show up and tell you with the use of a code reader. The code will tell you which plug.

Most times it is a bad plug or coil pack. The rich condition created by the misfire will melt your catalytic converter if you continue to drive the vehicle. This is why the light flashes.

1998 Toyota tacoma sputtering and engine light flashing?

I just had the same problem on my Tacoma. I ran it through the scanner and it gave me the O2 sensor code. I checked some forums and they all recommended to clean the mass air flow sensor. I checked it, and even though it wasn't dirty, I cleaned it with some mass air flow cleaner (alcohol will do just fine) and the sputtering went away. I also changed the air filter while I was at it. How do you get 4x4 to engage on 2003 Chevy Trailblazer?

The selector switch on the dash will allow you to put in 2 Hi 4 AWD and 4 Hi at any time. In order to access the 4 LOW function you must stop and put the transmission into Neutral, then move the selector to 4 Low. When light stops flashing put it back into Drive.
