try some pb blaster or wd 40. the sensor is exposed to alot of head so the metal expands and contracts and hold it in there pretty tight. try taking a torch to the base right at the pipe. just dont touch the wire with the torch! or try hitting the pipe with a hammer or something you can get a good whack with. right at the base where it screws in. there is also a special socket that you can feed the wire out. it's alot easier than a wrench! you can get alot more pressure. well worth the investment! good luck!
You can visit a local auto repair store to have them detect whether your O2 sensor is bad or not. They can normally do this for free in a few minutes. A bad O2 sensor would trip the check engine light to come on. The code retrieved would lead you to the failed O2 sensor.
Could be a faulty o2 sensor. Try replacing your downstream o2 sensor. Also, it could be a bad catalytic converter. Try checking for vaccum leaks in or around the intake manifold. (O rings usually are the culprats)
Depends on what the problem is or what code was set.
Yes
Try replacing the upstream O2 sensor
po137 is o2 sensor circuit low volts (bank 1 sensor 2) in English means o2 sensor is not seeing the right temperature thru the catalytic converter. problem could be the o2 sensor itself, but more than likely it is the catylitic converter showing age. try replacing the o2 sensor first, remember there is 2 of them, one before the cat and one after the cat. so double your pleasure double your fun, rule is if one o2 is going bad ... then try a new cat.
Yes, there are numerous sites available online for you to buy a new O2 sensor for your car. You can try Amazon, Ebay, carpartswarehouse and autopartswarehouse for the sensor. You can likely find a manual online once you know which one you are buying.
the exhaust, where every o2 sensor is
Remove the vacuum hose from the sensor. Remove the sensor retaining screws. The sensor will come off. Reverse the process to install the new sensor.
From what I have come to understand there are four o2 sensors, two on each side of the vehicle running from the exhaust manifolds. Each side has one o2 sensor before and one o2 sensor after the catalytic converter, therefore two o2 sensors on each side for a grand total of four. They are titled as such: Left side 1:1 refers to the o2 sensor above the catalytic converter also known as the upstream sensor. 1:2 refers to the o2 sensor below the catalytic converter aslo known as the downstream sensor Right side 2:2 refers to the o2 sensor above the catalytic converter also known as the upstream sensor. 2:2 refers to the o2 sensor below the catalytic converter aslo known as the downstream sensor
It is a specially designed socket that has a slit on the side so you can connect it to the O2 sensor and have the O2 sensor wires come through that slit. You can get them at Sears and probable auto parts stores. They work well. HTH
The O2 sensor can be found on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The O2 sensor will be attached to the back of the air cleaner housing.
