possible bad plug wires. When the engine heats up , any wire that is touching a metal surface can melt and a hole develops. Check out the wires. Run the engine and take a spray bottle with some water and spray the water directly on the plug wires, even the boots and look for an arc. Bad plugs may also do this so check those out. If they are old just toss them and buy new ones. They are cheap anyway. Id say that this engine is probably in need of a tune up. Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor should probably fix your problem. You can probably purchase all that for under $100. The only other thing I can think of is fuel pressure. When the fuel pump heats up, the pre-filter on it , which has pores in it will expand allowing less fuel to pass if there is any dirt in it.
