One possiblity could be the power brake booster is shot. When you apply the brakes it creates a large vacuum leak, enough to stall engine.

could possibly just be your C.V. joints
May have air in the system and have to be bled Check the flexible brake lines (front) to make sure they are not ruptured and are ballooning when brakes are applied

have you checked your brake fluid??
It could just be that when you push the brakes the fluid level goes below the proper level. add fluid and see if stops.
