First suspect is spark plugs, second is plug cables, third is coil pack
the common problem is the coil pack. if you know anything about cars you can spray it with a water bottle to simulate rain or moisture. if the motor stutters you know you've located the problem. if you dont know your way around a car you can tell your local mechanic you suspect the coil pack since its a known problem
coil is wet
If you are losing spark to the cylinders it could be that the coil pack for that spark plug has gone out or gotten wet try that first then go from there
There is no dis. cap. GM uses a ignition module and coil pack that sits on top of module. Quad 4 eng. is basicly the same, just a different configuration.
check the a/c compressor. it may be locking up on the vehicle. the clutch on the pulley may be sticking. Mybe it is your Coil that got wet or your plugs. Get a new coil.
Coil
cracked distributor. I had the same problem when it got wet. It was the ignition coil, a common problem with these cars. You are getting water in your ignition coil, probably due to a crack. You can pay $300 for a new coil and install yourself (pretty simple, just remove and replace) or fix the cracked coil with epoxy.
It could be your shock absorbers or coil springs.
Tampons, underwear, and wet wipes
Coil / ignition packs do not require routine replacement - use them until they fail.A key symptom is engine misfiring, maybe getting worse during damp/wet weather. Tough to see the backside of the engine where the coil mounts, but look at it at night to check for stray electrical shorting - could be coming from where the plug wires attach to the coil, or a cracked coil housing.NOTE: Misfires are NOT ALWAYS caused by a cracked coil - plug wires and various other factors contribute to misfiring too.See "Related Questions" below for more
