too much fuel (unburned) getting into the exhaust. could be your oxygen sensor or catalyst converter. less likely, a leaking fuel injector
because of ignition coil faulty.due to mountings, abnormal fuel pressure.
Engine bounce is a phenomenon where the engine speed rises rapidly and then drops back down while the vehicle is idling. This can be caused by issues with the fuel system, ignition system, or engine timing. It can lead to rough idling and poor engine performance.
If your check engine light is blinking that means an ignition misfire has been detected
why is my ford sport trac run rough at idling. Being that the check engine light is on, start with having the codes read. Your local auto parts store can help with that at no cost.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem Possibly a bad ignition coil
I experienced this problem after my car was leaking motor oil due to old faulty gaskets that needed to be replaced. Apparently because of the oil spreading everywhere it reached the engine mount. The oil combined with the heat from usage caused to wear down the rubber portion of the engine mount. I noticed the rough idling was gone once that piece was changed. Side note: It also helps to make sure your timing belt is well calibrated to determine proper idling. ANSWER: Another posibility is a vacuum leak or an air leak between the MAF meter and the intake plenum.
Rough idling is whenever the vehicle's motor "misses" or does not fire causing an imbalance and a loss of rotation reducing the motor's power and causing excessive shaking.
Have it checked for codes. There will be a misfire code that will let you know what cylinder has the problem.
my 1990 300zx is idling rough what could cause this?
The most common cause of rough idling would be a bad or clogged fuel injector. Also look for the hose on your EGR valve. They tend to come off in hot weather. If the hose comes off the engine will definitely run rough. I had to put a small hose clamp on mine to keep it from comming off. Spiritchsr1
Motor is idling rough.
Yes. Bad spark plugs, bad spark plug wires and a bad distributor cap are the common causes of rough idling. If it has been a while since you changed these components, do so.
