If this happened when the battery went dead and the "service vehicle soon" flashes on and off it is just indicating that the data bus has been interrupted and need resetting. Take it to a dealership they often reset them for free, and maintain the normal service intervals. Some cars are programmed to light an indicator at recommended service intervals, i.e., every 3000 miles to remind the driver to have the oil changed. It tells the driver that the next scheduled service (oil, oil&air filters, wheel bearings, brakes, cam-belt, air-con, transmission, etc.,) is due and it is reset by the dealership after the service. Not one to ignore if the vehicle is coming up to brake or cam-belt inspection/change time. It is worth talking to the dealership, in modern cars there is some movement that can be applied in scheduling periodicity and type of servicing, to match your vehicle usage.
The vehicle is due a service soon
usually means to service your vehilcle soon
Problem with the emission system have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
No. The service vehicle soon light generally means the computer system that controls the electronics for the engine has detected a fault in one of the sensors.
The Service Vehicle Soon indicator is usually a light bulb, headlight, or something to do with the vehicle. The Service Engine Soon indicator is anything that could be wrong with the Engine. Some computers can read codes for either, but some computers can only read codes for the Service Engine indicator.
service engion soon light is on
What's my issue
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
You can drive the car but should have the vehicle checked soon as possible. BUT if the service engine soon light is flashing, stop the vehicle when it is safe to do so then shut off the engine immediately. If you continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine soon light flashing you will do catastrophic damage to the catalytic converter(s).
In most cars, a service vehicle light can be reset by disconnecting the battery cables for one minute. After the cables are reconnected , the light should turn off.
It's normally a reminder that a service is due on your vehicle.
The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner
