It means there is a problem with the SRS. This is not a DIY repair, as serious injury can occur when dealing with the air bags. Take it to a professional.

AnswerIn my experience this is a problem with the clock spring in the steering wheel. I did the clock spring replacement myself without much trouble. The part is over $200 at the dealer.

Another problem that is very common with the LS is the driver side airbag on the seat. The wiring harness is below the seat and can be accidently hit by a rear passengers foot or become dirty or partially seperated. The code for this unit is 36 and will show on the dash. The airbag light will flash in sequence just count each flash. 36 for instance would be 3 flashes with a pause then 6 more.
