Pulling a heavy load will cause it to overheat. I suggest you have the fluid and filter changed and then install a transmission cooler. Very inexpensive and it will help when towing. Also check the cooling fins on the factory transmission cooler and make sure they are no clogged with debris.
The most common cause is low coolant.
The heat buildup causes metal expansion and lowers viscosity( of lubricating oil).
The most common reason for a transmission to go bad is not maintaining it properly. Another cause is hot temperature. Heat can break down the fluid that protects the transmission causing it to fail.
The heated transmission oil flows through the cooler, and that heat is exchanged to the ambient air which flows through the fins of the cooler. The rapidly cooled fluid returns to the transmission.
The "heat maker" is broken. :(
Friction causes heat. Heat is a source of energy.
They are junk! all 2004 passenger air bags are peeling up and dashes are also bubbling. G.M. should be ashamed of themselves
The type of heat that causes a burn is gas!
It is over top of the transmission, behind the heat shield. It is over top of the transmission, behind the heat shield.
Friction causes heat. Fraction causes heat only with people who are not comfortable with maths.
Microwave radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation, not a heat wave. When absorbed by materials, like food, it causes those materials to heat up due to the vibrations of molecules within the material rather than through the transmission of heat in the form of a wave.
Heat which causes a change in temperature of substance is called specific heat.
