power = light green
ground = black
there could be a bad ground for the lights, or there is a short somewhere between your fuse panel and your light
Probably the functions, running lights, reverse, brake, blinker, and a ground.

Both a stuck reverse switch and shorted wiring can be causes for reverse lights to stay on. Under normal circumstances, the reverse lights turn off as soon as the vehicle is shifted out of reverse.
Try bypassing the reverse light switch that plugs into the transmission. If your reverse lights come on, voila! Problem solved. Buy a new switch.
