Generally brown is used for running lights, green for right turn and brake, yellow for left turn and brake.
the running light circuit wire is brown. If you are looking in either the front marker lamps or the rear tail lights.
If you cut the wire from the light switch to the frount running lights (single use light) you can then hook a new wire from a keyed power source (check manuel) and the running lights will come on every time you start the truck. costs $Priceless
you probally have a ground wire off
Could have a short in your wire, a bare wire touching bare metal could cause it to ground out.
There should be a wire for your day time running lights that goes into the parking brake valve behind the dash, just disconnect the correct wire and they are disconnected. It worked for me on a 07 classic xl.
Sounds like there is an overload in a wire and it is blowing the fuses to keep from doing more serious damage. Have the wires to that fuse traced and tested to see if the wire is bad or if the ground wire is loose.
run a wire from battery positive to an inline fuse, then to a switch that you have to install in your dash. from the switch to the lights, then to ground. turn on switch, lights should work.
check ground wire on rear of frame for Chevy trucks
check for a loose ground wire
At the right rear light the brake light wire is white. There is a manufacturer installed connector for a trailer lighting kit use located about 12 inches ahead of the left rear tail light behind the plastic panel holding the accessories options. The connector holds an orange wire for continuous power. It also has the white wire for brake lights. It has the dark green for right signal lights, yellow for left signal. At the right rear signal light assembly there is more than one dark green wire.
A wire may be cut from the brakes. the turn signal wire is still connected
I'm not sure about older models, but the current Golf offerings in the US, the Rabbit and GTI, and probably the A3 can't be ordered with rear fog lights, but they can be added as an aftermarket option. This requires replacing the headlight switch with a European model and running a wire which snaps into the existing wiring harness.
