A basic tune-up of a gasoline engine, (which I am assuming you are referring to), is usually comprised of changing the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor button.
You will need a 3/8" drive ratchet and extensions as well as a spark plug socket. A gap gauge to adjust spark plug gap, line wrenches to remove and install the fuel pump, and some type of paint marker to mark the distributor cap in regards to which plug wire goes to which cylinder.
