aint that the icv
it regulates air at idle when the throttle body is closed
this stops dips in revs or stalling when foot is off the accelerator and on the brake
it lets an amount of air to bypass the closed throttle valve to keep a steady idle rev speed of engine
it also works when a heavy load is placed on engine at idle / closed throttle
heavy load usually being radiator fan coming on at temperature
also aircon switched on although the cars ecu may have an inbuilt raised idle speed for when aircon is switched on.
where is intake manifold runners control stuck 1997 lincoln continental
the iac valve (idle air control) is located on top of the intake manifold ,right before the throttle body.
On a 2.2 its on the backside of the engine below the intake manifold......
The EVAP vent valve/control solenoid is mounted on a bracket by the fuel tank. The EAVP purge valve/control solenoid is mounted on the front top of the intake manifold. Just behind the area where the throttle housing bolts to the front of the intake. It has an electric wires connected to it.
Finding the intake manifold runner control on a Dodge Avenger is easy. It is located near the engine.
Passenger side of the intake manifold.Passenger side of the intake manifold.
Assuming it's a V8, the starter solenoid is attached to the starter, which is on top of the engine, beneath the intake manifold.
on the side of the intake manifold. opposite side of the throttle body
The idle air control valve on a Vauxhall Vectra B is located on the intake manifold. The valve is placed in front of the air tubing, right behind the engine cylinder head.
for the 2.3L 4 cyl. motor, it sits on top of the plastic intake manifold which faces the radiator.

I would check the idle air solenoid on the intake manifold
