Also known as a clutch switch. Ensures that your car is in neutral before starting vehicle. In other words, its an electrical fault built into your ignition system so you cant damage your transmission by trying to crank your engine while in gear. The switch acts as an open circuit in your starting system until your clutch is pressed in.
