i had a a 98 and was quoted 600.00 from the dealership...You can do it now for about 300
The estimated cost for parts and labor to replace the head gaskets on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with a 3.4 liter V-6 is $1,685 to $2,230. For this job, the labor alone is estimated to be $1,310 to $1,675.
Any where from 1,000 to 2,000 dollars depending on labor and the parts
If you do it yourself about $40.00.If you take it to a garge about $450.00
I currently paid around $1100 for head gasket repair on a 1999 Pontiac Montanna. You might get it done cheaper if you don't go to a dealer.
In Canada it would be around $2000 is what I was quoted. I was able to do it myself for under $300.
TO SEE IF IT IS YOUR HEAD GASKET DO A PRESSURE CHECK. TAKE TO A RADIATOR SHOP AND THEY CAN CHECK IT FOR YOU NO CHARGE......AND IF IS YOUR HEAD GASKET THE PARTS ARE CHEAP BUT ITS THE LABOR THAT WILL COST YOU......(6HR JOB). I HAD IT DONE......
Just get rid of the grand am. It's not worth the fix because head gaskets blow in just about every single one of them. It's not worth the repair because something else will go wrong; like, for instance, the cam shaft will go out then you are screwed.
Repairing a car can be costly. The cost to repair a Front Valve cover Gasket can range from $15 to $150 or more.
They only Head Gasket I had to replace was on a Chevy Malibu 1999. Cost me about $1400
Depends on who performs the repair and if the head needs resurfacing or replacing. Get estimates from trusted mechanics.
