When the flashing hold light in a Chevy Aveo appears, it typically indicates a problem with the transmission system, specifically related to the automatic transmission. This light can signify that the transmission is in "limp" mode, which restricts the vehicle's performance to prevent further damage. It's advisable to check the vehicle's owner manual for specific guidance and to have the car diagnosed by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.

If the "Hold" light on a 2005 Aveo is flashing, it typically indicates a transmission issue or that the vehicle is in a different driving mode, which may affect performance. While it may not cause immediate physical harm, driving with this warning can lead to further damage to the transmission if not addressed. It's advisable to stop the vehicle and consult the owner’s manual or a mechanic for diagnosis and repairs. Ignoring this warning could lead to more serious and costly issues down the line.
If the hold light keeps flashing on a Kia Sportage a sensor may be malfunctioning in the light. The flashing light could also indicate that a speed sensor is going bad.
The "Hold" light on a 2005 Chevy Aveo typically indicates that the vehicle is in a specific driving mode, often related to the automatic transmission. When this light is illuminated, it may mean that the transmission is locked in a lower gear for better control, especially in slippery conditions. If the light remains on or flashes, it could signify a transmission issue or require attention from a mechanic to diagnose any problems. Always consult the owner's manual for specific guidance related to your vehicle.
The hold light is a warning indicator. Essentially, the flashing indicates that there is an electrical problem with the transmission.
The hold light refers to the hold button on the shifter module. It means the transmission holds the lower gear revving up the rpms and won't shift to the higher gear. Seeing the light means the button has been engaged. Push it to turn it off
A steady on "Hold light" means you pressed the hold button next to the shift lever, repress to disengage. A flashing "hold light", usually accompanied by the flashing check engine light means the car is in limp mode. Limp mode stops the transmission from switching to forth gear and engages at 35 mph. Check the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor wiring, should have 5volts between the outer two wires with ignition turned on and the middle wire to outside wire voltage should change 1-5volts when you start the vehicle, also check the vacuum line for cracks. Check the Throttle Position Sensor connector. If both are good remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine and you will see the Camshaft Position Sensor between the camshafts on a 2005 or earlier Aveo disconnect the plug check the ohm reading between the pins it should be between 460-620 ohms. If none of the above finds the problem then it probably needs a relearn procedure on the cam position sensor, this can only be done at a dealership. Disconnectinng the battery for 15 mins usually resets aveo service lights if the problem is still there the flashing hold light will come back on.
