When the back tires of a Chevy Cobalt lock up, it typically indicates that the rear brakes are either engaging too aggressively or that there is a loss of traction, often due to wet or slippery conditions. This can lead to a loss of control, as the rear wheels can skid and cause the vehicle to spin. It may also suggest potential issues with the braking system, such as malfunctioning brake components or improper brake adjustment. If this occurs, it's important to have the braking system inspected by a professional.
