The 2002 Chevy Tracker uses a timing chain rather than a belt. The timing chain is a metal link assembly that is typically located behind the engine cover, connecting the crankshaft to the camshaft. It is designed for durability and longevity, often lasting the life of the engine. In good condition, it appears metallic and may have some oil residue but should not show signs of significant wear or damage.
timing chain
what is the corect timming mark on ceo tracker 2002 v6
Chain.
The oil pump on these vehicles is located behind the timing chain cover. The oil pump is driven off of the front of the crankshaft.
It has a chain. No maintance is needed.
The timing chain is designed to last the life of the engine.
4 cylinders have a belt and v6 has a chain!
there is no timing belt -- only a timing chain that does not need to be replaced
The 1.6 liter , 4 cylinder has a timing BELT and the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder and the 2.5 liter V6 engines use a timing CHAIN
all engines in 2002 cavalier have timing chains.gmjim I just purchased a 2002 Cavalier with a DOHC engine. I think that it owuld have a belt instead of a chain.
