It's a type of fuel injection. It stands for "Tuned Port Injection."
The TPI (Tuned Port Injection) has 230hp.

Depends on what model it was installed in. Truck, Camaro, Corvette? The Camaro IROC & Corvette 5.7 TPI V8 had 240 bhp.
TPI would refer to teeth per inch.
That would be a 5.7 liter (350 cubic inches) engine, V8 meaning it has 8 cylinders in a V, 4 on each side,& TPI (Tuned port injection) is the type of fuel injection system on the engine, OHV (over head valve)

tuned port injection
1 is located in the rightside frame rail near the rt. front wheel. the other is in the fuel tank.
get it tuned!
No. the combination of larger displacement and an extra hundred HP will cause it to be too lean, a stock tpi will not do 400 hp. there are plenty of mods you can do to get it to work, check this FAQ, http://www.customefis.com/faqsite.html
