Chrysler part# 4874464. Penzoil synchromesh manual transmission fluid meets these specs & is quite a bit cheaper. I get it at Autozone for about 6 dollars a quart. The dealer will be about 14.00 a quart.
I prefer Pennzoil synchromesh
only if they meet fluid 7176 specs
No dipstick on the manual trans. You have to remove a plug at the midpoint on the side of the case to check fluid.
The 2002 Jeep Wrangler has a 5-speed manual.
Is it manual or automatic ???? Dextron III Mercon = automatic Dextron III Mercon = Manual
Except for a 3 speed Wrangler, a 2002 Jeep trans is electronically controlled and wouldn't have a governor. The 3 speed auto in a Wrangler has a governor that control what speeds the trans shifts at.
Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used in the five speed manual transmission of a 2002 Ford Ranger ( according to the Owner Guide )
The 2002 Ford Ranger owners manual shows : Motorcraft MERCON ATF ( automatic transmission fluid ) for the 5 speed manual trans. and Motorcraft MERCON V - ATF for the automatic transmissions
Dot 3.
Refer to your owners manual. Don't think this requires additional trans fuild. The transmission is designed that way.
I'm pretty sure its 75w-90 with a GL3 rating. The GL5 they have out now is much better then the GL3.
