It is located on the firewall side of the engine. Towards the passenger side. Just above the oil pan. I just replaced one on a 1991 Corsica 3.1 liter. I was lucky that I had access to a lift. It was sort of a pain but I got it replaced in about 45 minutes. The bolt is 8mm. Use a 1/4 drive with a long extension. Good luck.
Behind the vibration damper on the passenger side. It is best reached from under the front of the vehicle.

It has been my experience that what the manufacturer used is the BEST choice. Your truck came with AC Delco and they will give you the best and longest performance.
best is 20w40 grade engine oil.

Bypassing the knock sensor on a 2004 Chevy Tahoe 5.3-liter engine is not recommended, as it can lead to engine damage and poor performance. The knock sensor helps the engine control module (ECM) adjust timing to prevent knocking, which is crucial for engine longevity. If you're experiencing issues with the knock sensor, it's better to diagnose and fix the underlying problem rather than bypassing it. Consider consulting a professional mechanic for the best approach to your situation.
