Bad performance. They're RIGHT, right out of the box. DO NOT use a feeler gauge, you will scratch the platinum off the electrodes and ruin them. Install them straight from the box. My 2001 gap is preset at .054".

put in a new condenser. this can be a couple problems, either the spark isn't jumping the gap it supposed and just sparking due to a bad spark plug gap or the wrong spark plugs for your car or your coil is bad which rarely happens but it can with age

I don't think that you need to gap the plug if you get a plug that is specific to your bike. Mine has a NGK R6252K-105 in it. I think that is the same type of plug that they come from the factory with. If you're not getting spark then you probably have a fouled plug or something else wrong.
