A number of things could happen as result of TPS failure. The first noticeable thing is the MIL (Service Engine Soon) light will come on. Over a period you could also notice that the car computer has become dumb (for lack of a better term). It basically looses track of where the engine throttle is and, therefore, can sometime stall on account of ignorance. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, the car may idle too high.
engine will proberly only idle
The Throttle Position sensor measures the throttle position, which is controlled by the gas pedal. It is used to determine engine load and if it fails it can cause automatic transmission shifting problems.
Assuming you mean the throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensors tells the engine computer when the throttle position has changed, it adjusts fuel flow to match the throttle opening. If the throttle position sensor fails then the engine computer has to depend only on the MAP sensor to define air flow thus how to adjust the fuel flow. I would expect then that response time would be slower than when the throttle position sensor works correctly. On a Chevy Celebrity it might also turn on the check engine light and post either a code 21 or a code 22.
Yes, a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt is equipped with a throttle position sensor (TPS). This sensor monitors the position of the throttle plate and sends data to the engine control module (ECM) to help manage air-fuel mixture and engine performance. If the TPS fails, it can lead to issues such as poor acceleration or stalling.
When MBR fails then the operating system will not load.
Yes, the Pontiac Montana, particularly in its later models, is equipped with two crankshaft position sensors. These sensors are typically located near the engine's crankshaft and are responsible for monitoring its position and rotational speed, which is crucial for proper engine timing and performance. If either sensor fails, it can lead to engine performance issues or starting problems. Always refer to the specific service manual for your model year for detailed information.

The throttle position sensor, TPS, tells the engine control module,ECM where the throttle blade is. It is the primary way that the ECM knows what you want out of the engine. There is a backup system if the TPS fails, but it is not as efficient as the TPS. So what does happen. The engine will not be as responsive to the throttle as it should be. When you accelerate there may be a pause while the ECM realizes what you did. If you let off the of the accelerator the engine may take a few moments to return to idle or may idle rough and have a minor surge. It will ultimately return to idle. The engine will still run, but will be sluggish and lose its pep.

If your digestive system fails you will suffer and possibly die from malnutrition.
