The engine has an oil pan under it that holds oil. In many cars, there is also oils for transmissions and other various moving parts that need lubrication.
I would start with 4.25 qts. It may take 4.5 qts of oil. IIRC, the dipsticks on these cars can be tricky to read.

Castrol Motor makes the best engine oil for classic cars. Also, Pennzoil is an good choice for classic cars . Including, Mobil 1 and Amsoil. They are all great sources of oil for classic cars, but Castrol is the number one best oil for classic cars.
