what ideal pressure oil for engine 5.7 v8 vortex
The oil pressure sensor on a 5.7 GMC vortex engine is located next to the distributor. This will be towards the back of the engine block on the right hand side.
I've done it multiple times and never had any issue. Absolutely no change in oil pressure.
It is located on the back of the block at the top near the distributor.
There is no ideal pressure. Of course the oil pressure will be higher when the engine is cold. After it is running and at full operating temp, the pressure should read at least 10 lbs while idling. The pressure will be directly related to how many miles are on the engine and the amount of wear. A new engine will have around 40 lbs when hot and running at 2,000 rpms, and around 30 lbs at idle.
On the Vortex 5.3 it is located on drivers side, rear of engine, on top of engine, just behind intake manifold.
the oil pressure sender is under the ditributer on the back side of the intake manifold... it looks like a small coke can with a two wire conector. this is an astro van 2wd
Oil pressure should be 40 to 50 psi
The oil pressure sensor sends a reading to the gauge so you can moniter the engine's oil pressure. No oil pressure means the engine is in big trouble.
6 QTS. with a new filter.
The oil pressure on a 6-liter GMC engine is primarily regulated by the oil pump and the oil pressure relief valve. The oil pump circulates oil throughout the engine, maintaining pressure necessary for lubrication. The relief valve opens to divert oil back to the sump when pressure exceeds a certain level, preventing damage from excessive pressure. Additionally, the engine's oil pressure sensor monitors and reports the oil pressure to the dashboard gauge.
oil pressure switch oil pressure low worn engine did you drive with no oil in for a long time are there any noises in the engine
Measures the engine oil pressure and sends this information to the oil pressure gauge.
