The Bergeron model is a very simple cable model but occurs very useful in simulated systems. The model is constant frequency one based on travelling waves. This model represents system inductance and capacitance in a distributed manner (as opposed to lumped elements in sections), while the total system resistance is lumped ( 1/2 in the middle of the line and 1/4 at each end). The Bergeron model is useful for studies where it is most important to get the correct impedance or admittance of the cable at fundamental frequency in steady state, but should be avoided in the transient or harmonic behavior analysis. It is also useful in general wind farm stability assessment study.
