In 1995, Chevy made a version called a ZR1. It was a special made, race version, sold to the public. The body was wider, it had 10, or 12 inch wide tires in the rear, and a little bit more narrow, on the front. It also had a special motor in it. I also think they had a 180, or 200mph speedometers. They were all stickshift trannys I believe, as well. They were way faster than the stock version of the same year, and, were used in racing unmodified from the version the public got. They were a true race car, sold to the public. And, they set off a chain reaction that has led to the current Z06 models of today.
