The coolant elbows are plastic elbows (one top, one bottom) that go from the tensioner assembly to the engine block. GM routed the heater core lines through the tensioner assembly (crazy design!). I found the Dorman aftermarket parts at Advance Auto Parts for about $6 for both, GM are more expensive.
Yes they do at the intake manifold.
It is on the intake manifold near the thermostat housing.
Fill it up with coolant. If it gets low again I'm guessing you have a hole in your radiator. Replace it.

I called the Chevey dealer service department and they said the torque is 24 ft lbs. on a single pass for the 3.4 liter v6.
Intake manifold, near the thermostat housing. Should have two wires.
There is a bleed screw on the thermostat housing. Remove the screw with the engine loose. Ounc you have pure coolant and no air you can close off the bleed screw.

This is a diagnostic process. If the coolant isn't low and the fan will run when the AC is turned on it will need a Mechanic to Diagnose.

I HAVE A 2000 IMPALA ,AND MINE DID THE SAME THING.I HAD IT CHECKED AND IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT.IT WAS CLOSED,THEREFORE IT WAS NOT ALLOWING ANY COOLANT INTO MY ENGINE,SO I REPLACED IT AND NOW ITS ALL GOOD! ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS YOUR TEMP SENSOR. HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS.
Where is the turn signal flasher on a 2002 impala
