Preignition. If timing correct, you need more octane in your fuel.
The sound of a jet engine vibrates more than the sound of a lawn mower.
The sound of an engine gets quieter as it moves away because sound waves disperse in all directions from the source. As you move away from the engine, you are increasing the distance the sound waves have to travel, causing them to spread out and decrease in intensity. Additionally, obstacles and surfaces along the way can absorb or reflect sound waves, further reducing the noise level.
Higher in pitch as the fire engine approaches, due to the compression of sound waves. The siren will then sound lower in pitch as the fire engine moves away, causing the sound waves to stretch out.
from a distance away why does a jet sound loader than a lawn mower
Most likely the serpentine belt, when you rev the engine does it get louder, once the car runs for a minute does it go away or it may still do it.....If this applies most definitely I would have the serp belt checked or changed...
from a distance away why does a jet sound loader than a lawn mower
Because of the type of engine, and how the exhaust is made. If take away the silencer on the exhaust pipe, you will get a whole different sound. And If the engine has for example a four cylindre, it will make a nicer, and not so deep sound. With a 8 cylindre engine , it will make a more dark and "groggy" sound.
Lifters or valves.
Not really an answer, more to the question. You can hear the knock at idle. However, if the engine has time to cool, it's not so audible. Also, if you hit the accelerator, the sound seems to die away when the engine returns to idle. The sound is coming from both the top and bottom of the engine.
A jet engine is typically louder than a lawn mower from the same distance away due to the higher intensity and frequency of sound produced by the jet engine. Jet engines generate more noise because of their powerful engines and the high-speed exhaust gases they produce, compared to a lower-powered lawn mower engine.
90,000 cans are thrown away every minute by Americans ourselves.Sad, huh?
