Fogging oil is a light weight oil which is sold in an aerosol can. It is normally used to protect metal surfaces such as engine cylinders from rust during storage. When used, the oil comes out as a vapor spray and settles on and adheres to all surfaces it comes in contact with. Because it is an oil, it will not evaporate. It is also very light so it will not drip down due to gravity. When the engine is returned to use, the oil is light enough so that it is easily burned off or dissolved and will not interfere with normal operation of the engine. It can also be used in gas tanks and carburetors. Not to be confused with a 'fog machine' which uses glycerin to simulate a heavy fog mist during rock concerts.

After fogging, it's generally recommended to wait at least 2 to 4 hours before re-entering the treated area. This allows sufficient time for the fogging agent to settle and dissipate. Always check the specific instructions provided by the fogging product's manufacturer for any additional guidance. It's also a good idea to ventilate the area before re-entry.

How do you stop goggles from fogging?

One way is to buy anti-fogging spray. Your spray it into the goggles, and wait about 24 hours (or less, depending on the instructions on the bottle), and it should be less foggy, and have little to no fog. Others have said that spitting into the lens, and then wiping it off will stop goggles from fogging (something to do with the saliva).
