connect fuel gauge to schrader valve on fuel rail. Turn key to ON,do not start engine. The pressure should be 42-47 psi.
that pump is in the fuel tank
Most GM fuel filters are under or slightly behind the driver.
It is inside the fuel tank.
Replace fuel level sensor in side fuel tank well known problems for these.
